yeah yeah, I know I should probably RTFM, but you guys answer my questions so nicely :D

Ok, to get to the point: Whenever I go to Services->Grab in the menu bar (from whichever program), the Grab options are greyed out. Any idea why this would be the case?

Services depend on the application being used at the time. Why not use the shortcut keys - much quicker. Shift+command+3 prints the screen and Shift+command+4 gives you a cross-hair that you use to drag over what you want captured. ;)

Sure, I understand that, but lets take Firefox for instance. when going to Firefox->Services, "Grab" is actually not greyed out, like "Import Image" for instance. I can select Grab, but the 3rd level links under Grab is greyed out.

Just thought there is a reason for that

EDIT: then again everything else is also like that :D

Never mind, just ignore me :p

Few services will work with firefox as its not a cocoa application. Use a real browser :p

try searching help for "Using an application's services".

The trick is to select something and the compatible services become available.

Grab's a bugger though.... can't get its services to work:(

You need to use in in conjunction with another app as it pastes the results of the grab. For example you can open a blank sticky, set an insertion point, then you'll be able to grab. - http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6203/picture3xu0.jpg

Its a pain - use the keys ;)

Darn, too intuitive to figure out!

I've given up remembering too many keyboard shortcuts... just clutters the brain.;)
