Hi

New to the forum and know I will be slated for this but I am with openWeb for a couple of years. I want to cancel and they don't acknowledge anything. Terrible service ...what options do I have? The account is paid in full so can I instruct my bank to block any future debit's to them?

Thanks

I completed their online cancellation form 3 days ago. I have an uncapped 10mb account with them. Since that time the January debit has gone off. So I technically owe them nothing. I have tried calling but that call centre number is a joke and is automated. I have mailed repeatedly without an acknowledgement from them for the cancellation. While I know that I have to give a months notice which I did , they haven't acknowledged it and the account is paid up. I bet they don't want to close it since at the 1st of the next month they can claim the account is still active and bill me again.

You were suppose to have cancelled before the 25th of December which means you'll still be with them until end Feb. Also they won't cancel your account unless you send it to the cancellations@openweb address.

I sent it to that email but no response additionally around the 23rd of Dec the account was slow and still is so I did threaten them that I wanted to leave. Didn't see anything about the 25th of a month to cancel besides a month's notice. They have their notice they just need to acknowledge it and if they fail to do so by the end of this week I will go to my bank with the proof of cancellation attempt and get the debit order stopped if possible.

It's sad because I got this stupid account based on an advert that I saw on mybroadband.

Lesson learnt I hope?

Just block or reverse the debit order next month. (submit the cancellation email with the instruction to your bank)

Horrid company.
