Hey guys, I've just curious about taking off my Polo's VW rims. They are alloys (not the hub cap ones) and they have this cover that covers the wheel nuts. I just need to know how to take that cover off so that I know for future tips (if I get a flat) etc.

In the toolkit in the boot there should be a little hooked wire ring thingy majobby. You take said thngy, hook it into the hole in the centre-cap and yank it out.

It might also be a good idea to make sure that you've got the correct locknut for your car - they do go lost & get mixed up on 2nd-hand cars.

EDIT

There's a screwdriver in the tools kit where the jack is. Use that.

Don't do this...

Yes, if you dont have the little wire for removing the center cover there is a chance you will damage the cover when trying to take it out with a key/knife/screw driver/eventually anything you can find for leverage if you do unfortunately ever get a flat and find it missing, Check it after each service too, VW has "borrowed" mine at least twice that I have noticed

Fortunately they don't inspect my spare and toolkit during services because of the sub and amp sitting on top of it :D I check those things by myself.

2 x amps and 2 x 15" Subs in a box as large as the boot, and still it managed to "fall" out at two seperate stealerships
