Help with wierd mailserver problem

This mailserver relays via saix's smtp server (well it did up until yesterday).

Anyone know what "in connection failure cache for up to 5 minutes due to previous connection failure(s)" is supposed to mean?

There is no AV email scanning on this box for outgoing mail, and I can telnet in to saix on port 25 and do a manual send.....so it's not like a winsock error or connection error on the machine!

And it's not a SAIX fault either since i get the same response from other smtp servers.

Any ideas?

OK Fixed - Dodgy content filtering got itself in a knot

looked like a missing mx record at one point, what was the filter doing then?
