Help with Windows 7 install

i installed it on my 2xraptors running in raid 0..with no drivers & works 100%..get better performance if you install the drivers though!

I wanted to do the same thing with my 2x raptors, but had to load the drivers for Win7 setup to see them and afterwords it didn't work. Even started a thread about it. Sold my raptors in the end. :(

Well you could try intergrating the drivers in vlite,i am sure you wont have a problem.

Hi,
Still having the same problem even after trying to use drivers... what is vlite? link? and how does it work?
thanks

@ Schwarts ZA, i had the same problame as you! My friend burnt me the .iso on to disk, but he set it to maximum speed when writing so it caused the same error that you are having.. Lucky he gave me the .iso file over a lan anyways. So what i did was re burned it to disk and 24X and voila! Posting this from windows 7 RC1.

So just burnt it to disk again at a lower speed and try again.

David

K thanks.. will try that
PS: My name is also David

EDIT: I just tried that... still same error

it'll happen if you buy "computer corruption" or "proudly south african" hardware :P cough cough

i installed win7.7100 on nforce780i raid mobo, 2x500gb raid 0, 1tb, including 2x other sata drives, and 2x dvd-writers and external hdd.... no problems

hardocp has a guide on installing it via usb flash drive - check it out

i had problems installing win7.7000 in the past, because the cd was written at high speeds, so i reduced it to 4x and it didnt moan about missing files on the cd anymore...

You are all wrong. It ain't picking up his HDDs. You running raid or something? You need to load the driver for the control on which your HDDs are connected.

Shark might have a point here - if you are using a RAID config make sure it is set up properly in the BIOS. If you are using an ASUS mobo press Ctlr-I after the first splash screen, and it should take you to your RAID config.

Keep us posted.,

NO RAID if you had just read one of my posts... I have tried writing the disk at 8X... do I really need to go 4X?

The only thing I can think of is writing the DVD at as slow a speed as you can set, and see if that works.

Otherwise, why not try installing from a Flash drive, if you have one big enough?

Just looked around a bit, and according to google, you can't use an ipod to install Windows 7. :(
Sorry bud, seems that at a minimum you need a 4gig flash drive.
