Help with wireless and router

Hi

I got adsl with the DO 105wr router with 2 pc's in house (me and friend) my friend have a USB wireless stick,but it wont stay connected to router, it keeps jumping connected disconnected connected disconnected ....ANY help??

Im connected with LAN to modem no problems, ALSO have wireless and my friend also cant "find" me on hes pc.

ANY help?

On his PC, do a scan of available wireless network in the vicinity and make sure you guys use a channel that's no one else using.

Check the security settings on the Telkom Router, try connect without encryption. Not recommended to take off encryption but some times if the settings are incorrect or both device do not support the same encryption type, it can be problematic. Use at least WPA-PSK (never WEP).
 
nope nothing..what can be the problem?

and what is the network key? can i enter any or where to i find or set it up?

is the stick not compatiblewith router u would say and neither with the pci card??
 
Most likely a security issue.

It's possible that the adapter is not compatible. But this would be DUE to the security issue.

Try removing all security settings. You can do that by going to http://10.0.0.2 on a computer that is connected to the network. Enter your username/password. If you haven't changed it, it's admin/admin, or some combination of that. Change this immediately. The proceed to ensure that encryption is disabled. Then try to connect.

It's possible that the adapter simply doesn't recognise the version of the encryption specified. Try toning it down (but not to WEP!).

the network key is the security code that you need to insert into the pc trying to connect via wifi
 
guys..why do the signal jump from poor to exelent random?? Its not nice, my poker hang and it makes me loose my hands what cost me money...any help???
 
and can u tell me if i reset my router, it get a telkom "guest" username and it CONNECTS and WORK, how can this be ? who pay for the DATA???
