I was asked to look at a pc and was told that the HDD needed to be formated. The pc starts up, logs into windows automatically and error messages pop up including the windows has just recovered message but the moment I click do not send the screen blacks out and then the same messages pop up again. I've tried to boot it from my windows disk but nothing happens. Another thing is at the start up it picks up the keyboard but once windows starts to load it doesn't, only the mouse which is ps2 mouse. Any suggestions on how i can access this drive to format it without windows running?

First you need to set your bios so that your computer can boot from the cdrom where your windows disk is in and also you need to press a button so that it will boot from the windows cd once you have done this first try to do a repair on the windows if it still don't work then only format also don't use the recovery console this is not the same as windows repair.

:P

Ryan, are you wanting to install from scratch? If so and you need a disk I live around the corner and am happy to help you out.
