Okay. I'm new to WOW and have just brought the Collectors Edition (that comes with one month access). I'm trying to sign up for a new account and have now come to the screen that asks me to enter in payment details (credit card or scratch cards). I have neither. I want to use my one months access, but dont know how. If I tell it scratch card, I have to enter a code (that I don't have). Surely I should be able to play for a month without having to worry about this?

Can someone please help!? Thanks

Unfortunatley the only way to create an account is to enter in credit or game card details. Thing is once you've created your account you can take the details away straight after and it wont charge you a thing. You just have to get the details which could be a problem. GL man hope you find a solution

Okay, so let me get this straight....

I've just spent R300 on the WOW Collectors edition that comes with a one months free subscription, but I can't play it because I've got to go out and spend another +-R300 for a time card (2 months/60 days) so I can get my one month free subscription?

You've got to be kidding me.

lol just get a friend/relative to borrow you their cc details and then cancel it once the account has been created. you should be playing well over a month, i have been playing this game for over a year now.

WoW is a online game with monthly subs. Someone should have told you that you will have to pay monthly.

Dont worry i also got the game for a "month", since then i have upgraded my pc/adsl just for this crappy game, damn the game, damn blizzard & most of all DAMN YOU ALLYS.

@ Barfish88. That's not going to be easy.

Anyway, I signed up for a 10 day guest pass and I'm now playing on the Sylvannas realm/server as a human warrior.

I can't belive that after spending R300, I now need to spend another R300 just to play! Aargh! How frustrating. Read my the latest post on my blog where I speak all about it.

Thanks for your help guys.

Basically wat u have 2 do is "Activate" the account with a Credit Card, then u can remove the CC, and enter the game card

I had to do the same, bought the game + 2 time cards... took a few hrs of bribing my parents 4 their CC :(

I think you have it wrong.

They only debit the credit card after your 30 days have expired. So you enter cc details but it's not billed. Will only do that after 30 days.

I pay for myself and a friend. He just gives me the R 120 in cash every month as he doesn't have a credit card. Spead to someone who has one, they won't mind, If you pay them every month ;)

Who on earth buys a ONLINE game to only play for ONE month only ... the mind boggles.

I did for GW and LOTRO. However I was already playing wow very actively and only did it out of curiosity.

Indeed, if you want to only trial the game, then don't buy it. Copy it or download it and use a guest/trial pass, they're all over the place [i also have 1 floating around somewhere as you get 1 in the WoW standard box and then another one in the Burning Crusade box ]

It is kind of ambiguous you have to admit, he was obviously under the impression according to the box details that he can install sign up and play for a month before putting in further payment details or a game card. Its obviosly much easier with a CC.

Thats a load of crap. I applied for a 10 day trial account, the went out and bought a copy of wow, entered the code in the management area and walla 40 days play time, never asked me for any credit card.
