Helpdesk Software for small Business

Hi Guys

Wondering if you could point me in the right direction, im looking for a helpdesk software that can do general helpdesk trickets
if it could have an asset inventory plugin that would be great and if it could also have a section where we can share our work files that would be even better.

Company is small around 3 technicians and 2 managers

We are in the IT consultant space and IT services

GLPI - We use with OCSInventory NG for asset management but you can also use Fusion Inventory

I used OCS for many years and was aware of GLPI but thought it looked a bit clunky and dated (later versions are a bit more aesthetically pleasing) but since we implemented for out helpdesk, it has really exceeded my expectations and we've barely scratched the surface of what it is capable of.
 
Have used OSTicket and Hesk.

Easy to install and usually included in the Softaculous auto installer that comes with cpanel

I think you need an IT consultant and someone with IT services ;)

No offense.

If you couldn't slap this together from research and proper implementation, then I wouldn't want to use your services.
Using free Softaculous services in Corporate settings are a bad idea.

Sure, slap on a website with it. But handling important information like tickets, inventory and client information is no joke.

Get someone to give you proper advice and products.

Years and years ago (2003) we simply used SharePoint. Mainly to setup an inventory and knowledge base. Also to assign tasks and show progress or completion.

OSTicket is a pretty decent but fairly basic helpdesk but it doesn't do inventory out of the box. GLPI is more aligned to ITIL process (albeit ITIL v2 I think) so you get incident/service, problems, changes, inventory, supplier management etc. Of course, there are plenty of other choices of good helpdesk software these days, many of them also free.

Something like this would be an option but for me you would be re-inventing the wheel and creating something somewhat esoteric - difficult to maintain, especially if the original creator is no longer around at some point.

Back in 2003 there wouldn't have been the choice of helpdesk software available that there is today. What would be quite nice would be a helpdesk system with a good integration with Sharepoint Online and MS Teams
