. Cape Town – A Cape Town man died a hero after rescuing a woman from armed hijackers.

The 30-year-old man was shot and killed while pelting stones at the suspects.
On Monday afternoon, Lusindiso Ngcefa, 30, was walking down Swartklip Road, Mandalay, when he noticed two men dragging a woman out of her Opel Corsa.

Police say the woman was struggling to unbuckle her seatbelt as hijackers forced her out of the car.

Lusindiso began throwing stones at the suspects in an attempt to scare them off.

One of the suspects turned around and shot him in the head.

Shees, life means nothing in SA.

Should have just let them get away with it, the woman at least wasn't being kidnapped.

That's a lekker *** attitude to have, wow.

"Hey, they're assaulting that woman."
"Yeah, but they're not kidnapping her."
"Oh I see yeah, I mistook her screams for help for something else. Yea no cool let them get away with it, it's fine."

I'm not saying not help her, but he perhaps should not have thrown stones at the guys for exactly this reason.

RIP :(
I would have been happier about his heroism if he was still alive.

No, it's the correct one. From what the article indicates, they weren't assaulting her to assault her, they were dragging her out the car to steal it.

It was still a very brave thing to do, but he forfeited his life needlessly.

Stones were probably all he could get his hands on. The man's efforts should be praised, not scolded or scoffed down to idiocy. At least he tried to actively do something.

What do you think would be a valid reason to interfere then? When they rape her? When the want to kidnap her? When they are busy beating her head in with an ax?

They were assaulting her. Violent crime. I would have shot them there and then.

Please man, you are completely misconstruing me. I'm not scolding him, not scoffing him down to idiocy; just telling it like it is unfortunately.

Yes to all above. Dragging her out of the car so they can steal it: No.

Brave man, RIP we need more guys like him.

Apologies for that, it's not my intention. I just think it's horrible how people can go "eh, he's stupid" when what went through his mind was the welfare of a fellow human being. Crime is rampant and it only gets stopped when people (you and I) work against it. Cops are utterly useless and cannot be relied on, and the criminals know this.

RIP :(

The only reason we have so many incidents like these is because the perps knows there are not many brave guys like these around.

Some men are compelled to react when women are being mistreated by males. I respect your opinion on the matter, as its your life and your choice. However, if this happens to one of the women in your life, then how would you feel if male passer-byes did nothing to stop them? RIP brave man.

Not the only reason, a major factor is that the criminals are allowed to be armed with guns while the average citizen has nothing and nobody to protect them from said criminals. Half the time the people who are there to protect us are also criminals.

I also get your point of view. My point is that the end goal of the men didn't seem to be violence against the woman, but the theft of the car. What was the end game here from this man?
