Had morphine & pethidine injection for a problem I had with my back and was put in traction. This was many years ago.

All I can say is WOW, what an experience. Tried to get a second shot but silly me told them that I am an alky and that was the end of the trip to the other planet

I had a motorbike accident, and need some serious sutering, so I was given 2 shots of morphine.

Boy, that was a lovely night's sleep - and I had a drop with painkillers throughout the night

Based on my limited experience with other opiates, I'm sure it's damned amazing. I'd happily try it when I'm in my dotage, but any drug that temporarily numbs the pains of life + euphoria and peace is extremely dangerous.

It's also just plain dangerous dangerous - I can't think of many heroin users I've known who are still alive.

Not sure how I dodged this bullet, but from my understanding is the addiction is 100% physical. It's not that you feel good or better or whatever when you're on. It's that you feel ****ing awful once you're off and you crave another hit so that you can just feel normal again.

Just not worth it.
