Guys, good luck trying to cancel your Herotel fibre line.

I'm on a month to month and needed to cancel the line so that the service terminates at the end of September.

All fair and well, I call up the support desk (on the 31st of August) check that I'm payed up, and ask what the procedure is to cancel. I was assured that my account was up to date, and that I needed to notify accounts that I want my line terminated at the end of September before the 14th of the month.

So I drop them an email, pay the final balance and go about my merry way.

Fast forward a 8 days (we're now past the 20th of September) and I get an email with a cancelation form a different office, claiming that I need to fill in this specific form and they're going to collect MY personal hardware. (Bought and payed for by me, outside of Herotel)

They waited until after the 14th to respond to me, now claiming that I need to give them 30 days notice (would have been good if they told me this on the 31st of August, when I called them) and want to bill me for a service I cannot and will not be able to use.

If you're considering Herotel, consider their competition equally.

Why are you cancelling?
I'm on a month to month and needed to cancel the line so that the service terminates at the end of September.
And for how long did you have the line, cause I know on the contract we signed for the Herotel line if we cancel within a year, we have to pay for the installation and pay penalty fees as well

We are canceling cause we moved (And herotel has no coverage here in the new place)

Had the line for nearly 3 years. We payed the installation up front. And bought the router upfront too.

They really had no reason to try and recoup costs, cause everything was done upfront (we where early adopters of the fibre service in our area, so we helped get fibre into the place)

I haven't heard from them in nearly 2 weeks (since we've left) so I assume no news is good news
