Hi all.
I recently got fiber from herotel.
I am quite happy with their service, but have one issue, I"d like to access my router locally to check connected devices and so on.
I did contact support so let's see.
What do you guys think of ISP locked routers?
Have a great day all.

They're not keen on sharing details, however I do have my parent's PPPoE details which happen to be the default login details for the router as well ;) You have to justify why you want it, else you're not getting it.

Those Totolinks aren't great. It likes to phone home to China every couple of seconds.

I asked as well. Got a firm "No".

I was installing a wireless printer for a client on Herotel fibre and pressed the WPS / reset button a little too long while trying to connect.
I reset the router and lost internet.
A quick call to Herotel and they walked me though putting the clients' PPPOE details back on the router. All good. I then asked "Well, now I have access to one of your routers, I thought you frowned upon that?"
Lady says "Nah, well, Ja, fine. Have a nice day. Bye".
I was thinking of doing the same for myself.

If you nag them enough, they will give it to you, but they won't support you if something goes wrong. You forfeit that right.

Thanks for all your responses.
I understand why they do it but having to contact support for things like changing SSID is just na.

Well, I can now access the router
Really eccilent and fast support so far
Had fiber for only a week so time will tell.

What password does Herotel use for the Totolink router?

Ha! they won't tell you. It's the same as the access user password. Secret to them.
One thing you can do is this:
Factory reset the router, wiping all the settings. You will lose internet access.
Call Herotel. Explain situation.
They will walk you through access and setup with your account username and password. You will now be reconnected.
You will now know your password.
You can now access your own router.
Good luck.

You open your internet browser(Chrome, Edge). And in the search bar you type in your router ip address. Ip address is located on your router. Good luck logging in. Herotel does not give the password for they're customers to login onto the free provided router.

Good evening,

I need help to access my router and reset password without connecting with ethernet cable/port because my laptop doesn't have ethernet port to connect with the router.
Any one who can assist urgently, I will highly appreciate.

I tried every possible password to log into Herotel's router. Looks like Herotel North has a completely different way they do things like remote logins and passwords also different.

Hi guys, try

Welcome123!

Or

laroch007
I remember being able to login at the start of last year, using a password I found on a forum, but I can't remember it :sob:

Think it was Welcome123!, but not sure what to put in the username field.

I need inbound and outbound port acess, with some static MAC rules on my herotel router. Told them that and Bam I got it. stay away from the WAN tab and everything will be alright.
