Flamboyant South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has finally got a divorce from his wife Tenielle Gibbs, after a compromise agreement in a last minute deal.

One of the conditions was that the settlement would not be made public. Gibbs, who is currently with the South African team in England got married a year ago in a fairy-style wedding in the Caribbean island of St Kitts in June last year.

But the couple broke up a few months ago and Tenielle Gibbs filed for divorce, making exorbitant demands to keep her lifestyle.

She claimed about USD$12 000 for monthly maintenance; about $3000 for rent a month; about $750 a month for groceries; $500 for clothing and $400 for a psychologist.

Tenielle claimed Gibbs earned about $912,500 this year and that he should pay to sustain her lifestyle.

Back in 2007 or 2008 but I think he still has to pay her the same amounts.

While in India for the inaugural Indian Premier League in 2008, Gibbs sent Tenielle a text message telling her they should go their separate ways.

The couple were divorced and Gibbs paid off her new car and gave her R550 000 in cash as part of the settlement - much less than the nearly R100 000 a month she reportedly demanded.
