Cape Town - Former Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs has been arrested on a charge of reckless driving following an accident in Camps Bay on Sunday evening.

According to the Jacaranda FM website, although no injuries were reported, but it is suspected Gibbs, 40, was speeding when he collided with a Toyota.

Western Cape police spokesperson FC van Wyk says the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.

"A case of drunk driving is under investigation. The 40-year-old suspect was arrested at 23:30 on Sunday and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on November 25, 2015," Van Wyk confirmed.

According to the People's Post website, Camps Bay police station commander Captain Delicia Isaacs confirmed the incident.

Isaacs confirmed a case docket has been opened and the circumstances around the incident are still under investigation.

Gibbs played 90 Tests for the Proteas as well as 248 ODIs and 23 T20s, he last match coming in 2010.

First, why is the OP mad? Second, what is wrong with Gibbs's face, he catch a pox or something?

So what? You get arrested for wrong doing but it needs to be proven in court first!
 
So much for "innocent till proven guilty"... methinks it is those people who abuse that kind of thing, who disappear without trace after being involved in a drunk driving accident, where they were at fault...

I think that is about how long it takes for blood test results to come back from the state lab.
He needs expert advice from Comrade Tony Yengeni on how to make crucial evidence go away.

Actually Arno Carstens is the king of defeating drunk driving charges. He'll want to get Arno's lawyer.
