HI Guys I'm hopefully getting a new PC this week and these are the parts I've chosen.....I'm on a bit of a budget so these parts aren't high end but I reckon they can do the job...This will be a family gaming pc, I'll be doing the gaming and the rest of my family will use it for normal stuff, Facebook, Music, Work etc.......My PC knowlegdge is ok, but I just wanna ask all you tech heads if all the parts I've chosen will fit together properly and if they don't what must I get or what could be better for the same price, I've got a couple of categories with more than 1 choice because I'm not sure whats what with those parts so if you guys could just advise me on which one of the parts or other parts would be better suited.....Thanks a lot guys....BTW I'll be getting all the stuff minus the GPU from http://www.ikonicit.co.za
Case: Coolermaster Storm Scout R1000
Motherboard: 2 choices here: ASUS P5N-D: http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=405 or ASUS P5QL-E:http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=514
I'm very Bad with motherboards.....I seriously knopw lil about them, thin tried to understand them but it hasn't worked for me, basivcally I'm looking for a mobo that'll support a quad-core and is reliable and sturdy for a lil bit of overclocking at the price of those 2 if possible!
CPU: Intel E8400 (might go up to the E8500 if I can scrounge up the cash) Price: R2000 http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=253
I thought about importing an I7 but the price would go up a LOT cos of shipping fees and all that and also the I7 motherboards are a lot more expensive.
GPU: This 1 I will most probably have to import because i'll save a LOT even with shipping costs. Its the EVGA GTX 275 Price: $250 (R2000)
PSU: Coolermaster Silent Power Pro 600w http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=771 Price: R 1400 or Raidmax 730W http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=355 PSU Price: R900 or Corsair TX650W http://www.ikonicit.co.za/index.php?target=products&product_id=739 Price: R 1400
Now i'm really bad with PSUs all those numbers just pwn me so if you guys coould just advise me on whoch one of those three is the best in terms of price to performance, quality and things like that, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
RAM: OCZ PC2-6400 DDR2 4GB PLat XTC Price: R720 or OCZ DDR2 4096MB Reaper Heat-Pipe 1066MHz 2x2048MB KIT Price: R890 / 2gig version here or Kingston Hyper-X KHX8500AD2/2G 2GB KIT Price: R380
I'm looking to get the best value for money, I don't mind adding the extra money for the extra 2gigs of rams that some of these have but will it be worth it?
HDD: There is plenty of choice here I'm mainly looking at a 500GB hard drive and my choice are between Seagate Baracuda and Western Digital Caviar....I just need to know which is better in quality....they are lots to choose from and they are all very simalar Here are a couple that stood out for me is the Seagate Baracuda Price: R500 but like I said there are a LOT to choose from and they all look similar so here's the link to them.
Screen, Keyboard and mouse are sorted out!
The overall price will be around R7500
THanks again for the help guys!!!!
