HI-TEC tekkies. Bad quality.

Damn son, it’s been many moons since I’ve heard the phrase tekkies.

People call ‘em trainers or sneakers or kicks or shoes (interchangeably).

Buy Sketchers
^^^ this

I've gone through a fair amount of brands over the last few years, Hi-Tec was my old faithful but I had multiple new pairs just destroyed in a matter of months

ditto for Adidas, Nike, Reebok, someone recommended New Balance ... lasted somewhat longer but ended up ruined in under a year

Sketchers have served me well compared to all of those, also CAT and Green Cross fwiw

I have a pair of hitecs that are used exclusively for hiking. They have done about 200kms of hiking and only have minor signs of wear and tear. Paid R650 on sale and I'm very pleased with the km I've got out of them

Have a pair of the same ones and been using them for just over a year, on two day hikes as well as regular daily use, and they are still OK.

Over the years I have had a number of Hi-Tec shoes and so far so good, and I wear them until they are really ****ed.

Take them back to where you bought them from, and also reach out to Hi-Tec.

Often it is a bit hit and miss with shoes.
A pair of Merrell hiking shoes I owned did something similar after only 4 months.

The right boot looks suspect, were you kicking a wall or something

We shouldnhave a poll. I agree Hi-tech is rubbish learned that lesson a couple of years ago.

Never touching the brand again.

They emailed me back and asked for a bank statement showing the transaction seeing that I don't have the slip anymore. Will email it to him tomorrow and see what happens from there. So far seems promising.
