Does anyone perhaps know where I can find something like this locally? Doesn't have to be exactly the same, but I want to try to make my own fight stick, and it seems like I can get everything I need locally except that thing.

There is some free HID driver software that you could program into one of the Atmel microcontrollers which might be suitable. You should be able to purchase the microcontroller from RS Electronics or Mantech. Otherwise you could use the circuit board from an old USB keyboard - probably your cheapest option (~R40).

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have decided to take the easier route, and to simply dismantle a gamepad I already have. So far so good. Now I just need to get a hold of the other bits.
