HavocXphere Upload v1

  • Makes uploading stuff to uunet easier
  • Publishes uploads so that others can benefit too even with hidden folders
  • Works on local-only cap

I hope you guys like it.:D

ETA: Its still a bit buggy...but it works. I already uploaded a couple of video clips.

Does this show all the hidden folders?
Nope. It shows all files uploaded by other users using this upload tool.

Folders uploaded by other FTP programs will stay hidden.

Boo, got quite excited there for a moment.
Well I can't hack the server...so the closest I can manage is this.

If enough people use the tool then it will have the same effect though.:D

Awesome thanks, I'll give it a whirl when I get home. Although I think that sometimes people actually want their uploads to be hidden, so to encourage uptake maybe offer the option to publish the upload or not?

@Havoc: You could just bruteforce through the directory names for a long time and get a list :D UUnet might object though.

Yeah seconding HGP's idea for opt-in publishing. Although chances are good then that nobody will do it.

Its not technically feasible imo. The server responds to slowly too requests to run through the combinations fast enough. And even if it were feasible...I sure as hell not trying it.;)

I considered including it but my main aim was to get something functional out. Next major version will probably look very different...but that depends on how well this one works.

I'll call it something cryptic.

ETA: Screenshot of download part.

I upped two programs and got a clip or two, seems to work alright :) I don't know how it will handle bigger files (like the normal 350mb "clips" ;))

I've finished work on HXUpload v1.2.:)

Many much needed improvements have been made.

More info here.

Due to changes with the sorting of downloadable files and the number of control files that must be downloaded, it now takes a while to grab all the info...especially when the Temp folder must be recreated from scratch.

I hope you guys like it.:)

Should work. I *know* it won't manage >4 gig file due to the 32bit limit...but 350mb should theoretically work.

Thanks to AntiThesis for pointing out a crucial bug.:)

Thanks guys.

Someone uploaded some nice stuff.:)

I see the sorting by date isn't perfect yet. The order of stuff uploaded in fairly quick succession is still messed up.:o

They deleted all the uploads in the community folder. Most of it was just a few days old.:(

Everybody please use the target directory option where possible...so that the uploads are distributed over multiple folders and the entire thing is less susceptible to such stupid delete campaigns.

Nice one. I've uploaded some stuff.

Some feedback:

I see once you've selected the file to upload it gets automatically uploaded - I didnt get a chance to go back and input a description. Maybe add a submit button once the description and selected file fields have been filled it.

What are some of the targeted folders we can use?
