Anyone with good advice with regards to high end desktops that I can use as servers?

We had so many issues with providers like Mustek, any other recommendations? I use HP (Axiz) for my notebooks, but need some more trusted providers for my desktops

A floppy drive would be nice ;-) Also with a Turbo switch. If the price difference is really not that much, I'll definitely consider an entry level server for my 2-man company...

Anyway, thanks for the Axiz / Targus feedback... Will check with them. Anyone know where to get updated Axiz price list?

1x VMWare (Virtual) server with 2x VM computers (Windows WSUS ; RHEL 4)
1x Windows SBS Server with Exchange, FileServer and IIS (Sharepoint)

Axiz pricelist can be download from their web site. BTW it's Tarsus - they are wholesalers, not retail.

For file/mail it rather depends on the size and amount of traffic. A largish email server (> 10000 accounts) will require some processor power

Memory size (be careful if > 4GB and Windows) and disk speed are more of an issue for file and email.

I get most of my servers from Pinnacle Micro. They can custom build you a server according to your specifications, you also have the option of buying a on-site 4 hour response warranty.

I would say that proccessor is not that important at all. focus mainly on disks and RAM. I am running SBS2k3 and the RAM usage is absolutly atrocious. With 6 users I am using around 1.7GB on average. sometimes this goes up to 2GB. If you going to have more than 15 users, definitly get at least 4GB RAM.

Processor and hyper threading are very NB for a web server.
