High interconnect rates cannot be justfied

No, high interconnect rates cannot be justfied... and neither should the high on-net costs! There IS NO justification for them... other than profiteering, greed and everything similarly unflattering that defines our sterling Telecoms providers.

This. Would be inspiring to see autorities actually take people's best interest to heart, and not only their own agenda.

Why are a few players not allowed to make unreasonable profits? This is an African issue and needs an African solution. Increase the interconnect rates, decrease the service levels and ensure even greater profits. Oh, and also, include more consultants.

Just please include me, I want "to get connected" :D:D

Never before have so many stated the obvious about how much we are being ripped off by the few without anything actually being done about it.

Sort of apologies to uncle Winston.

We've had so many similar articles over the last week or two it's becoming boring...

I was listening to an expert the other day and he raised the concern that the interconnect fees might very well be dropped but could see networks up their prices wide of this to compensate for the drop in revenue from the i/c fees.

I want to be positive but I am worried that we won't see any real drop in prices. :(
