High performance SATA flash module launched

So this is nothing to do with SSD?

I remember somewhere someone was flamed for quoting Mybroadband without linking... anyone have a link to the computing sa article?

I think Dataweek had something about them recently
Maybe check technews site.
I'll post it if I find it;)

sounds promising, i just hope it ain't too expensive.

mmm... Wonder how much they cost & how much they can store...

Transcend’s SATA flash modules are the perfect combination of size, performance, and reliability, and are now offered in capacities of 1GB and 2GB in both Vertical (male SATA info and potential connectors) and Horizontal (female SATA connector with mini 2-pin potential and mechanical write-protection switch) versions to satisfy your industrial application requirements.

So what should these be used for in reality?
*Edit*
Specifically designed for use in thin clients, blade servers, ultra-compact sub-notebooks and space-limited industrial installations,
Ok - great for thin client... dunno what it would do in a blade server, unless we're talking basic application / web server on a distributed platform.
