High Ping and Latency

Still not working for me......

pings were better by a small margin, but the wcdma switching hspa issue causing tons of lag is still happening last night and this morning.

not my modem, tower problem - isp problem

Dam it, still no joy. Just kill the Land line rental fee for analogue so we will go back to adsl and hopefully have more stable internet.

Anyone on 8ta noticed FB being much slower than other sites last night? My pings got better after 1130 pm last night, but Facebook was almost dead. Most other sites were fine.

I have been experiencing this same issue with internasional sites. Facebook doesnt load, so I tried speedtest.net and the page wouldnt load either...

Someone for 8ta plz update us.. you told us that by the 18th this issue will be resolved but clearly it has not been fixed.

GIVE US ANSWERS ..... ffs

I don't think it's international alone. I visit RaceDepartment.com a lot, and it's based in the Netherlands, it was still loading like a rocket. Maybe sites based in specific countries?

Seems the problem on my side is fixed, I hope it stays like that.

My 8ta is running nicely at the moment. Pings good and speed has increased x5. Will watch it later in the evening, but miles better than it was for the last 2 weeks. Thanks 8ta rep for taking action and getting the engineers on it. Keep it up and maybe it will be a good idea to do the network optimization more frequently to keep things running smooth.

I've had 8ta for quite a few months now and in general it's been fairly nice. For the first week I had about 7+ mbps download speeds on www.speedtest.net. I've been using 8ta for online gaming mostly, I don't really have problems as far as browsing is concerned but recently it has become pretty much impossible to be able to use any application that requires a decent internet connection such as online games.

My www.speedtest.net results seem okay, but the line speed is very very unstable, it wavers from 0.2mbps - 2.0mbps with round about 40 ping within 50 miles. That seems fine, so why has everything become so insanely slow though? Websites take longer than they used to and I get disconnected from games.

What the hell is going on tonight? Since 7pm the network has fallen apart!

Ping statistics for 41.203.21.137:
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 26, Lost = 24 (48% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 883ms, Maximum = 3180ms, Average = 2162ms

8ta - please sort your towers out!

please explain why im on edge connection all of a sudden and then when i want to phone and complain IT GOES OVER TO HSPA and then back to EDGE ?? dont #$%^$& with me man ive been patient for over a WHOLE MONTH ?!?

this is happening since last night and now in the morning as we speak. FIX THE $%^ ASAP.

enough is enough

Speeds & Latency are a little bit better but still not good enough for online gaming. A simple Google ping goes from 32ms to 500ms in a matter of seconds. In the mornings its great but at night time it's terrible AGAIN. Seems like a congestion problem. Don't think your network can handle all the customers. Back to Cell C for me - even if its more expensive, at least i can game with it.

Internet is not usable currently:

End of the month is rapidly approaching. The question is, will the 8ta internet be usable ...
