High Ping and Latency

I had problems with high ping and latency in the evenings normally after 6pm, this happend about 3 months ago .. Technicians came to my house and the issue was resolved as they upgraded the bandwidth from the site/tower I was using the most and they also redirected the tower . Everything was working 100% :).. thank you 8ta for fixing this issue although it took about 1month.
Before any 8ta tech / rep *****s on my head , 8ta has been very helpful.


That last 4 days I have been experiencing the same issues as before,. very high ping and bad latency in the evenings.. I have phoned 8ta customer care and it has been reported but nothing has been done and no one as phoned me with an explanation for the drastic change on the network.. :mad: , sorry to say 8ta , but not so helpful anymore...

Can someone from 8ta plz sort this out or get back to me on whats going on.

Have the same problem , ping gradually goes up to 600-700 then my connection drops at about 11-12pm.
I stay in krugersdorp Noordheuwel.

I too have been experiencing high pings to local sites and latency on diablo 3 (EU international server )is just terrible now 600 - 1100 . where it was 199-240. Im not sure if the cable break or maintenance or whatever has had some kind of interference with the network but service levels are now below standards.

tower im using is in durban ,moseley park, hopewell road

I have not heard anything from any technician or costumer care agent ... This issue is getting very bad and I struggle with pings/latency of 600-1000ms in the evenings... Plz get me the help I require... I am a paying customer after all. x24 months..

I also have been having latency issues with 8ta, sim is non roaming and open on network.......just straight foward google tracert gives me between 770 and 695ms which is very bad!!!!!!!!
Tech came out twice to my house to test and now it is resolved.
Local ping is 90 and international is 135!!!!!

Funny thing is I had the same issue as Xander.Strdyom . Had tech's come to my house 3 times.. It got resolved but the issue has started again beginning of this week.. I hope 8ta fixes this or make an attempt to contact me.. Can't be that hard.

Just so that everyone knows, im 300m away from the tower and I have 98% signal strenght at all times...

dude the funny thing is i stay 200m away from the tower and 99% signal strength with low DB and as you can see on my post a bit up that i cant even play on the EU diablo 3 server as the pings are above 400 and that if i tracert it it times out ! this tower is in an area with low population :confused:

pings use to be 199-250 . only local is more stable but that too jumps to 240-350 pings because the 8ta dashboard shows its jumping between HSPA and WCDMA the whole time !! and its not the modem !

Unstable pings is typical for 8ta.
WCDMA comes always when idle (not exchanging data), this is normal. Does it switch to WCDMA during downloading files as well?

EDIT: no it doesn't do that anymore but still constant timeouts on the diablo 3 EU server.

only time it doesn't do that is when i play cod4 , constant ping of 100-109.

gonna give 8ta a call now for an update. its been a few days

spoke to soon, it just started doing that while im playing with my hardcore character on a public game which would force it download / upload data ..... this is starting to P%^$%& me off, 8ta techy told me WCDMA is when it handshakes with the tower and its the towers name (erm whaat the F?? no its not??) .... meaning im not sure he knew what it meant but forwarded my request to the "SOP" department and will receive a call on Monday

I am getting the worst speed and ping latency in the evenings. last night was no expection as i was hitting 900 -1000ms ping .. this is really not the way to do business. If there is an issue (which obviously there is ) I expect some kind of support from 8ta... NOT JUST A MSG FROM YOU SAYING THE ISSUE HAS BEEN ESCALATED....

how can the network go from ok to very bad in such a short time . please get me some sort of help or atleast an answer/explination.. SHOW ME YOU CARE ATLEAST...

I compliment 8ta when they do something good and also expect me to 8!tch about it when stuff goes wrong as this is the only way you guys can fix issues.

its been the same for me as well.... sigh, right before i typed this message all my sites went down, its like its getting worse ?? i couldnt get onto mybb until i restarted everything. its not the modem, nor is it my pc.
