High Ping! Please Help?

My ping/latency is 70-130 where it once was 20. I have a 20meg vdsl with an expensive Asus router. I also live within a km from the exchange. I have called Afrihost numerous times and they say my line is syncing fine. I have tried 2 Afrihost accounts, 2 webafrica accounts and 2 mweb accounts and get the same 70-130 latency. On the Telkom guest account and an Axxess account I get a 16 ping. All of the accounts were given to be by afrihost. Telkom sent a technician who said he didn't know what was wrong except to try telkom because Afrihost don't have servers in Durban. This made sense as to why my telkom and axxess ping was good. I then bought axxess data and for some reason got the high 70-130 ping. The called axxess, the first person i talked to said 100 ping is good so i called again and was told that the accounts I got 16 ping on were Telkom Saix unshaped accounts and that on normal accounts from what he can see I will never get the ping I am ment to. He said axxess don't sell the saix account and that they are expensive and he doesn't believe telkom even sell them anymore. I don't believe I should have to have some expensive account to get the same normal connection as everyone else. I have tried everything including 3G and LTE. Ping is vital for online gaming can anyone please help me?

Please run a trace route to those particular game servers so we can see where the latency happens and submit those results to [email protected]. Once your send these results a ticket number will automatically be generated, kindly hold on to that ticket number as reference to this investigation.

Also confirm whether you experience packet loss with the ping tests.

Hi

Has there been any improvements on the latency? - we did some basic remote reboots on the line to help. Please contact us on 086 000 9500 for any further assistance .
