While I don't have a link, was watching Morning Live this morning and they were interviewing the Minister of Higher Education. Now he started off saying some decent things, helping out financial aid etc. Then he opened his mouth and said the curriculum need to be "adjusted". Now this could mean many things and as a lot of people who interview or hire others know, there is generally quite a substantial gap between the workplace and higher education.

However he then said that universities should change and become specialized. There always has been an air about certain uni's being recognized for certain fields but the conversation appears to go further than that.

Considering the mess that's been made with OBE and the modern school system, I'm very wary that they now want to start interfering with higher education.

Anyone know more about this lot and what they are planning?

* Oh and not sure if this is a current affair or Off Topic so feel free to move *

I tend to agree...
The world is changing, technology is changing and people are changing...

Maybe certain things in higher education should change aswell...

Being a doctor today is not the same as being a doctor 15 years ago. Theres less people wanting to become professionals, not sure why but its become a trend.
