A NIGERIAN clergyman who was arrested on Monday for allegedly being involved in the armed robbery of a woman and her two children in Govan Mbeki Avenue, Port Elizabeth, was given bail yesterday.
Deeper Research Bible Ministry pastor Robert Bagma, of Dollery Street in Central, appeared briefly in the magistrate‘s court yesterday.
The court postponed the case for further investigation and Bagma was released on strict bail conditions. His bail was set at R5000 on the strict condition that he had to check in with his investigating officer, Detective Paul Roelofse, every Monday and Wednesday. Police also confiscated his passport [and he'll have another fake one by now, most likely assisted by the efficient Home Affairs official].
Bagma‘s car was identified by the victims as being the “getaway” vehicle used in the Govan Mbeki armed robbery on Sunday. His case will resume on July 2.
