Hi guys.

I'm new on the forum. Been reading for years but have never contributed.

Anyway, I have installed a HIK vision CCTV dvr at my home. It all works well accept the iPhone app. My home network is unrestricted. The issue that I have is the cameras do not update live time. Then after refreshing the app doesn't work at all. I need to put my iPhone on plane mode off and on for it to work again.

Anyone have any experience with this ?

Thanks

Hi,

For the app to work correctly, you need to open/forward the correct ports on your adsl modem. Which ports are currently open? Also, where are you based?

Hi,

Port 80 to DVR
Port 8000 to DVR
Port 8200 to DVR
Port 554 to DVR
Port 1024 to DVR

I'm in Sandton

Tx

Can you PM me your public IP address? You can go to www.whatismyip.com and it will display your IP.
PM me the IP so that I can check whether the ports are open from my side.

Note that you do not need to open port 8000 and 8200. These are normally the ports for the IP cameras. Also PM me the model number of your DVR.

Hi ved789. Welcome to mybroadband. I think i have the same issue. This is the setup:

Huawei B593 Router on Telkom Mobile LTE
HIK Vision DVR

All required ports are open. If I access my public IP (by passing dyndns so as to exclude this being an issue) from iphone app via Telkom Mobile network (another TM account) all cameras can be seen perfectly. If I access via MTN, it allows 1 camera to be seen perfectly for a while, but if i request say 4 cameras, it connects for 2 seconds and then drops.

I thought that perhaps it's the firewall on the Huawei. Now set to lowest setting which still does some stateful packet inspection. Its hard to see what the firewall is doing as there's no log I can find on the web server access.

Its odd that it works fine when you on the TM network and no other. Possible that TM blocks specific traffic from other networks?

Is this what you seeing as well ved789?

Hi MOONIM.

I have the exact exact same issue. Makes me wonder if it's a Telkom LTE issue ??
