Hikvision SSDs

I have friends and family members using Hikvision SATA SSD's for ±7 months without any problems.

I've installed 3 x HIKVision SSD, and 1 x NVMe M.2 Drive. No problems so far. (Oldest one maybe a year in age.)

Edit: I will say this, their support site is non-existent.

I guess you are not a regular visitor to these here parts...

Well if the product works there shouldn't be an issue but if it doesn't you are basically screwed

Hi Guys

What are your thoughts om Hikvision SSDs? Are they reliable and trustworthy?
They seem to be decently priced

These are DRAM-less SK Hynix TLC drives with a Phison controller. Pretty standard.

Here's the datasheet for the C100 series: https://www.hikvision.com/mtsc/uploads/product/accessory/C100_datasheet_V1.0_docx(1).pdf

The E2000 is pretty much the same as the Sabrent Rocket drives, which is also similar to Gigabyte's NVMe SSDs. These have Phison controllers, some amount of DRAM, and Toshiba 3D NAND. There are firmware differences, and Sabrent is particularly aggressive about speeds.

EDIT: And I believe the E100 series is using Toshiba NAND.

Slight bump. Anyone got an update on these SSD's? Still all in working order? Happy with your purchase?

Bought the E100 512G SSD from evetech about 4 months ago and my PC started showing signs of Failure(Windows booted "Sometimes" but as soon as you open applications it freezes and bluescreen!......when I tried to reinstall windows, windows refused saying that the drive might die soon) ....cant format...cant delete partitions.....

I would not recommend the Hikvision SSD's :)

Saw this happen on a brand new Samsung 860 Evo drive, and a SanDisk Ultra Plus that I sold to a customer. Sometimes you get the short stick, but it happens very rarely.

Bought the Hikvision E100 1TB SSD about a month and a half ago and it has failed, unable to format, cannot add or remove partitions. Cant low level format cant zero it nothing lol.
Cant even send it back for RMA as it has sensitive data on it that cant be removed haha...FML.

Hi @CataclysmZA

Thx for the info, but I am having the opposite issue, I cannot remove my data lol.
I have worked in the data recovery space and already tried several options (albeit all software based) to try and nuke the data before returning it for RMA without damaging the SSD.
I would contact Nick to see if he has any ideas on how to nuke the data as well.

Alternatively, as they say, this is "school fees". It's not ideal, but it's not like it can get any less broken without spending more money on it.
