I had to tell my photo story here, as this is the place that got me interested in photography in the first place!

So earlier today, just browsing the net and I get this Facebook message from a fairly well known gentleman in theatre and music reproduction/producer etc. He's now started a project to new talent known and on their way to stardom.

He says he saw my Flickr profile - specifically the live music - and wants me to to take photos on Sunday at a theater where he's got 25 new, young, unknown musicians playing for an audience of about 450. We (he sells) the photos to the new bands should they need or want and I get a fair share of the cash seeing as I'm the photographer.

Only 1 of the 25 has asked for photos (so 1 sale) but there is potential for the other 24 which is a nice sum for a few hours :) if absolutely nothing happens, it's a decent experience!

Thanks zizo!

Told the guy I'm not rel photographer, but I'd try my best. Also asked my brother to join to take normal angle with a 50 1.8, as I only have a 70-200 ... And he wants 10 workable shots in 7 or so minutes, so two cameras are better than one.

A for some pics taken before, they are in gig section - but here's one or two more small

That third pic (the green one) looks like the lead from Saving Silence.

Nice pics btw :)

That's awesome Dolby! Good job :)
I know that feeling when someone finds your photos and out of the blue hires you to do some stuff for them.

I had a guy from the US hire me to do location shoots all around Pretoria, Centurion and Harties for their travel site. I had to get photos of a gazillion hotels, museums, entertainment venues, tourist spots etc. Got to visit/see some really amazing places I never even knew existed in and around Pretoria - and most of them for free, too. I worked like a maniac on weekends and in the evenings for almost 3 months to get over 200 location images.

Got paid in USD, too :) But the awesome part is seeing my images up on their site.
I hope more of the guys order pics from you!

Thanks guys!

I'll probably be asking about signatures, watermarks and logistics/costs if all goes well :)
