I bought a 2nd hand hisense. TV had UK firmware installed, so Netflix wasn't working. I installed the SA firmware, but it's still not working. I did a factory reset, no success. I phoned hisense, they emailed me the latest firmware, installed it, still no success. Basically, going into Netflix does nothing, just a black screen.
The TV doesn't have an ESN; it says its not available. I suspect this might be the issue.
My googling skills can't find a resolution.
Has anyone had this issue before?

Edit: TV details: Hisense 55K3300UW

I have the same issue, you can try go into TV settings, system, application settings, deactivate Netflix, and or clear cache and cookies. Additional issues to that, Netflix literally needs to be reset in TV settings, logged out, out of or deactivated for me everyday. No matter if I exit Netflix, leave it open, then power off. The sign in, reset, exit Netflix persists every single day. I cannot watch without doing either of the above. There are no online updates, I have notified hisense, they sent me some instructions how to install a firmware which didn't work, they sent a technician, who couldn't resolve either. YouTube works perfectly all the time. I have also reset to factory defaults...

I had a similar issue but the firmware i downloaded off the website worked 100% after that, was for a 43NW

Do you perhaps have the link to the firmware please? I have the same issue (same model as well)

Thanks!

Did a firmware update on a friend's hisense over the weekend. Netflix working now.

Did you ever get your issue sorted out? I have exactly the same issue with the Hisense TV I bought in September.

Have you downloaded the firmware of the website and updated it yourself? Their online updater in the TV is rubbish.

I have tried, but the TV ignores the update. I received an update from Hisense back in October 2018, which I could apply but didn't work, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

Hi there,

Please assist me in updating the Firmware on my TV - 55K3300UW.

It is not updating via the network and it is not finding the update file as specified below.

I did try the update of the firmware as directed on these links and did download the ".gz" file for my model TV. 55K3300UW - from https://hisense.co.za/wp-content/uploads/patches/55K3300UW.gz.

I also did follow the below process, using different USB sticks (2gb & 16gb) and any of the 3 USB ports.

I used the following names of the file:
update.pkg
update.bin
55K3300UW.pkg
55K3300UW.bin

All it does is goes past the HiSense splash screen, to the last used input channel.

Preparation:
1. Insert the USB into a computer and open it as a folder view. In the side menu select the USB and right click
2. Select the format option and it will open a sub menu.
3. In the sub menu, select the File system drop down menu and select FAT32.
4. In the format options untick the option that says Quick Format.
5. Click Start. Once completed the USB will be ready for the software to be loaded on.
6. Download Firmware zip file.
7. Unzip file.
8. Copy unzipped file to USB Drive format as Fat32.
Firmware update:
1. When TV is on, unplug Power Cord on the back of TV.
2. Plug in USB stick with Upgrade Firmware into TV USB port
3. Hold the POWER button on remote control and at the same time turn on the TV by connecting the Power Cord back. Release POWER button on remote control only when you see ‘Software Updating’ on TV.
4. TV will then update automatically, and restart when update complete Important: Do not interrupt the update; do not use the remote control and keep the unit ON all the time.
5. Remove the USB memory key.
6. Press Quick Setup button on remote, go to Full
menu settings -> About- >Restore To Factory
Default. Then follow the installation guide to finish
setting up the TV.
Note: Some people have reported that it can take several attempts to get the firmware to update.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Why is it that hard to update the software? That's just complete bullshit. I was expecting you to require stiffy disks at some point. You should be able to plug in a USB and hit update.

That's piss poor form from hisense. Are all the brands like this?

OP just get a TV box, much easier solution. Hisense TVs are really not the best in the market, sand very horrible when it comes to software updates.

My Hisense plays Netflix just fine, although I have the 7100 series, but even the 6000 series at my work works fine too

I am in the market for a new tv and the number of bad reviews on takealot for hisense tv's with netflix issues is enough to keep me away.
