Hitman Absolution: Best in series with nasty bug

I am really enjoying playing the new Hitman and it's been awhile since I've played such a well produced game (ok, Max Payne 3 was also impressive), but after getting about 3/4 through the game, a cut scene froze and destroyed my save game. Some Googling and apparently players are also getting it. Now must I wait for a patch (if they will release - currently telling people to delete save game and start again) or start playing again. This is such a unfortunate let down for an excellent well-paced game.

Im just about half way through the game and enjoying every bit of it. I updated to the latest patch this morning. (Using PS3)

Saving up for the PC version. Can't wait to assasinate people again. lol

Ok, what I have done (because it is that cool and I can't wait for that patch), I stop the game, make a copy of my save game onto an external drive and then continue playing, after each story arc. Up to now, I have not needed to recover as the game has passed my original crash point. I think the problem lies with the fact that the game does a cut scene at the same time it does a save and this might conflict, sometimes.
