HIV test

no its not me, really! a friend of mine asked me to delete all her fb msgs, so i did, but before that, i read through a few, and she asked a few guys if they went for one, cause she doesnt know if she has it, and she doesnt have the money to go for a test, now, she doesnt know that i read all her msgs but i'm really worried about her now, :(

oh crap :( free test's / standard ones have a 3month window. just remember that

She does not know if she has it?

OMG that sounds dodgy damn. A few guys? i would be worried about her as well.

ARVs suck goats balls - they make you beyond sick - you actually want to die. IIRC it was around R350 at mediclinic.

i'm thinking of driving to her tomorrow and to take her to the doc, i'll just have to pay for it, i'm sure i'll get the money back from her parents, or from her later on, but her having hiv and not getting the treatment she needs, :(

Always a good plan - and at least if she knows she won't unknowingly infect someone else - in the very unfortunate event that she's positive.

Either way, its VERY difficult going for the test if you think you might have it. I had a thing a couple of years back where I had to go on to ARVs for a few months - the test I took afterwards was the worst experience in my life - it was the longest three hours I ever had to wait.

Sounds like either she wanted you to find the messages or you did some serious stalker-type digging around...

Our maid takes ARV's and she is fine.

Really? Cause I've known a few HIV positive people who can't stand them - some even chose not to take them, and take their chances.

Can't remember exactly, but I think I lost about 20kg over 3 months - hated eating, was always sick, didn't feel like work or gym, probably a bit of depression knowing I could be positive in 3months.

Ya she actually got really bad at first before the ARV's. She got TB, but they managed to cure that and now she is on ARV's and is very healthy considering her circumstances.

I also have a stress related stomach ulcer, which probably didn't help, I kept it a secret because I was scared they'd put me on inferior ARVs - probably not my brightest moves.

Sounds like part of the effects were psychological. My sister was on arv's briefly 2yrs ago for needle stick accident(trauma patients need to be still ).. anyway initially its crappy.
