so what ive read "not to much" theres gonna be a one meg line coming out soon, great but really how great is it,the price will be double ,almost all adsl user have a capped account.So thinking about it we will have to pay double and the guys with capped accounts will use there account up much quicker and start moaning and groaning about the bandwidth issue,so then tellkom will start selling extra bandwith at higher cost to you guys,then youll start moaning and groaning again so really,is it even worth getting exited about 1 meg lines? maybe in a year or 2 when telkom up grades again!
 
I am not excited at all about the 1 mbit line .. I am on 192 kbps and I have to set limits on my downloads so I can keep into the limits (30GB in my case). So 1 Mbit line not much good at all ... will hardly ever see the difference, unless my cap becomes like 200GB or so ... but that's me!

There are "insane" people that can't live without 1 mbit line even though they can't use it much due to cap. You can find a lot of them on the iBurst forum ... it sounds ridiculous to me, but hey, everyone has right of opinion, so for them it will be good!

I don't think telkom will increase the caps any time soon, looking at that they have not increased them in 3 years ...
 
Well uncapped user seeing that you have so much money it should not be a problem for you.
 
Yeah he could get the 1MB line plus a couple of the 4GB unshaped accounts from Telkom. Lets see
1MB line : R940 (Based on double price for 512 from 1st of Aug)
4GB UNshaped x 20 : R19200 (80GB should be enough)
Thats roughly R20000 for 80GB unshaped 1MB line.

Might make a small dent in your pocket, even in uncapped user's pocket ;)

Yes Angellus but remember he will get it @ 1mbit that seems to be very important to uncapped user. So the money doesnt mean anything to our rich boy! He is my true HERO.
 
I dont get it, uncapped was slagging it off as well, now he is being slagged for being for it. Guys read the posts properly before slagging!
 
We should ask the mods for a seperate forum that you have to be P*ssed to go into. Should be fun.

2 x 30 gig allyoucaneat account roughly 1100 plus 100 so it will be around 2200 for that, i carry that in my back pocket its nothing lol

So I am insane??? I had 4MB in Germany and I would love to have it back....

ADSL in s.a is more expensive than i tought:(:mad:
for that price in london, we could get a 8gbps with 100bg cap*fainting*
But thats way to much for me.
Ill stick wiv me 54mpbs connection:)

I reckon you are looking at your wireless router connection speed which is 54Mbps and you are connected to 512 Kbps , 1Mb/ps or 2Mb/s Internet feed. Check your bill that'll tell you.

Sorry I am not trying to be a smartass with my posts, well maybe just a little bit, but I am pretty sure you are wrong on this one.

Actually my router says: dsl status: 54600 downstream 8192 upstream
my router says its connected at 108mbps but thats the wirelss speed:)

Err once again.... 8 Mb/s yes not 8Gb/s. 1 Gb/s has only just been released in asia somewhere.
 
If Telkom is wise, they will simply upgrade the 512 connections to 1Mb lines without a price increase and do the same to all the different DSL packages below 512. Simply up all DSL packages to the next package above it...

They will have to drop the price of 192 DSL... thats the least they can do to be fair!

To be fair Telkom should sell the company to people who actually give a **** about SA - unlike them.
