We went last year (and probably in 2021/22 as well) and don't recall some 'wow' moment really. Also, stalls are not really big Son enjoys any outdoor change really so we usually go and it is close by.

I wonder if you any of you have been to this event and what is has been your experience. Considering wife's buying spree on temu, I doubt if we would go this time though. Good chances all the resellers buy it from temu anyways. :-)

Haven't been in years, its pathetic imo - like most of these expo's
Yes all these expo's are lame and a money making scheme. You pay parking and pay entrance to go buy stuff that you can order probably for cheaper.
In the days before internet things like the Rand Show was great, now they are a sorry excuse of people trying to beat a dead horse.

We went to Rand show and it was boring stuff so much so that even last year seemed great. Lot of crowd though - gullible people like us I suppose. But rand show has helicopter flips & fast car spins etc which you don't get anywhere else afaik.

I was thinking of going to Hobby-x. My wife started using a Cricut recently and it would be nice to see what other options there are in terms of materials.

On the topic of expos, I go to Huntex every years and I think its great. I enjoy being able to hold many of the new bows and just drool over them. The only downside is the number of people there.

Regarding Cricut, has she looked at temu ?

I have an order coming in hopefully this week, but Buffalo seems so be battling a bit at the moment
That they are :-( also was looking for stuff for my wifes cricut, the vinyl costs don't seem to be much cheaper though.

yeah I do agree. I got a fairly decent deal on Cricut branded material on OneDayOnly recently, so we do keep an eye out there.

Wtf is Cricut? :X3:
Its something that looks like a printer, but can cut Vinyl and some other materials. We use it mainly to make stickers and we use heat transfer vinyl to print on shits/babygrows etc. Ive also made a few bitrhday cards with cardstock(thicker paper)

It can also be used to draw and write and even emboss or deboss paper.

Did you end up going to Hobby-X?
Wife is looking at getting a Cricut, and at the Hobby Expo in December there were great specials but we didn't buy so was wondering if there would be repeat specials at Hobby-X.

Agree with you regarding Huntex - it's very well run, a nice spread of exhibitors. Was hoping the Hobby Show (same organiser) would be similar but it was a bit meh

Along with mybb notification, this popped in mailbox now :-)

Didn't go last 2 years and I doubt if we will go this time. We have hoarded too much stuff from Temu. LOL.

If I recall, Cricut stalls always have specials but not many customers but we generally go there as early as possible and leave early as well. Crowds usually turn up late in the afternoon I suppose.

How's the rest of the show? Worthwhile?

First time we went, it was fun because son was young (5ish) and he was game for anything. He got some goodies at PnA stall, got face painted so happiness. He enjoyed so we enjoyed.

Nothing great IMO - unless you are looking for something specific. Model Train guys from Krugersdorp (if I recall) had impressive setup done by some ou toppies - they do it every year though.
