With the US Election they ‘beamed in’ a reporter from another location. It is done through multiple HD cameras surrounding the off-set reporter which are in turn coordinated with the on-set cameras in the studio.
The result is impressive – not a cheap exercise but far better than the current standard of video conferencing style remote reporting.
