The website is full of spam and popups.
I thought just for the fun of it I will try to do the whole application and see how far I get. With no surprise 30minutes into the process (mostly of this because i filled in the form by hand) , I could see this is not going to work.

1. I had to search for the Z83 form that I need to fill in using a quick google search because the search in the gov.za site is of no use.
2. The website only provides a postal address (no email) so I called Mr L Kgopa on the number provided and he said that on this level they do not use emails we need to post it or deliver it personally in Pretoria. I asked if we can use SAPO and he said yes but it will not reach them in time, I need to make use of PostNet (costs is on me).

There and then I said ok thank you and just continued to fill in my application to go work in AUS rather.

I don't think they will get any applications in time.

Not bad for your portfolio actually.

If someone actually improved their systems I don’t mind my tax money paying for their salary.

No one would mind if the tax money is going for something useful but with the attitude that everyone in government have I don't think that tax money will EVER go into the correct pockets/salaries.

The one time I was at Randburg Home Affairs collecting passports and the system was off so I asked the manager there if i can't help to just try and get the system online again even though I dont know the infrastructure but they just looked at me and said no thank you.

Out of interest, what does on this level even refer to? Too senior/junior? and why wouldn't email be suitable?

Some of the best companies and people in SA have repeatably failed at delivering projects there while being incredibly successful elsewhere. Its going to take a long time to fix and dha hiring a few tech workers is not going to be enough.
