Home Affairs crackdown in South Africa

The Department of Home Affairs' crackdown on corrupt officials within its ranks has resulted in eight convictions, with offenders receiving a combined jail sentence of 97 years.

Responding to parliamentary questions from IFP MP Busaphi Machi, home affairs minister Leon Schreiber said 27 corrupt officials, including a passport syndicate kingpin, have been dismissed.

Hopefully this can put us on the path to visa-free access to the EU and the UK. Corruption at Home Affairs is the main reason why we need visas for everywhere.

Personally it makes no difference to me, I have both British and SA passports. Never needed a visa for anywhere.

My only concern is that the moment the DA either leaves or is kicked out of the GNU, it's all going to **** again.

Indeed. I get the distinct impression that this is only happening because the DA took over the portfolio.

Yip, you only have to see what happens to a municipality when the DA is booted out to see this in action. Think Joburg, Pretoria, Knysna, Beaufort West, and many other examples.

Also lined up for another high paying, civil service role in another department to be equal parts bone-idle and corrupt depending on the day.

They can only arrest who is in front of them that committed the crimes, or would you prefer they not arrest anyone?

I am convinced that it is known who the kingpins are in all areas where corruption and looting is happening in government.

It has the look similar to our own "Epstein list", where the entire cabal depends keeping the names of those involved in looting/corruption secret because, if revealed, it will "destabilise government".

And Corporate South Africa, whom play a part in this cabal IMO.
