home Alarm tripping

I have this sensor on my east-facing wall. It keeps tripping during the day. This wasnt an issue before, now it's like it gets triggered when the sun goes up or its reacting to tree shadows etc. I am thinking of replacing it, but what should I replace it with ?

Looks like the same old ones on my home, I've slowly had to change around one a year recently as they're just at their EoL.

Nothing I could accomplish, though I had one of them trigger excessively from an ant nest that built inside. Same symptoms so I assume the sensitivity is rocked after a long time.

We have 12 or 13 of these around our property, all wireless, waiting for them to die so I can spend a small fortune upgrading. We have very few issues with them other than the cost of replacing batteries at R300/sensor if it is the sensor and wireless batteries at the same time.

nothing inside, checked it. Its just dying. It came with the house so it's definitely more than 5 years old.

asked the alarm guy who has given me a quote of R3500 for a new sensor and R650 for the install. Thinking of doing it myself, just dont know what to buy and will it be user replaceable

yeah pretty much sadly (and I hope they last just as long), I was recommended and bought Takex 90⁰ and 180⁰ PIR depending on the area required, Alarm in the Box has them for slightly cheaper than most and definitely cheaper than a lot of installer prices.

I wonder if the issue is a dead/dry capacitor reducing its resistance to noise.

Those are for running along the wall. Pretty useless so lucky it needs replacing. Keep in mind the sensor might not be the issue. I Also second the takex 180.

Can crawl under them under certain conditions so setup them up properly.

Aim to get cctv with Ai human ID with output to an alarm.

With hindsight, I wouldn't have spent anything on those outside PIRs.

Maybe trim the bushes.

If you want something that is reliable and will last a 100 years, you can't go wrong with Optex.

no bushes its just wall on both sides. but I have noticed that my domestic help leaves the mops to dry in its range/ field. I will check if that makes a difference
