Home Automation - Smartkit

Are you using this?

Turns out the card I have laying around is a WeMos R3 so should be perfect for this application.

Yep that is the code I’m using, but I’ve modified it very heavily as I prefer to send each zone’s status to separate MQTT topics as well as improved partition support as I have 2 partitions on my alarm.

Are these Sonoff devices SABS approved?
Just the Sonoff Basic and RF at the moment. They have type approval from ICASA - and by virtue of that approval they have NRCS/SANS approval.

The rest should be approved in a few short weeks.

Lekker.

I’ve engaged with the Dev to check the serial output whether it might work with my unit or not.

Once I’ve done that and if it can potentially work I’ll dig deeper.

Are there any stores in Cape Town where I can buy them off the shelve? Thank you for your response.

I believe Communica sell these too? Though you may want to phone ahead of time before going there.

Just note that you won't have the NRCS/ICASA approved devices that you were querying about - if you purchase from Communica.

Definitely! Stock is on it's way from China - don't want to disappoint anyone by running out ;)
Next month is here... WooHoo. Any news on this big Sonoff sale yet? :D
Ok Sonoff stock has finally arrived in our shores. Look out for next week's crazy Smartkit sale (we'll post here!)

Sorry we missed September, but better late than never!

What is going on here?

Does it mean I have a neutral or did someone colour code stuff wrong.

Third wire is because it’s a two-way switch. I guess they could/would have put that on black.

Maybe I should just open a different light switch to see if it’s all red.

Definitely not neutral. Those 2 way switches only take live and a wire to another 2 way switch.

Yeah that's what I'm also thinking that the other black is going to the other switch.

But I stupidly didn't look around the box properly to see what was hiding in there (which there was) but unlikely someone left a spare neutral.

If anything it's wiring for the second switch in this unit that was never connected.

This Shelly 1 looks quite promising to solve the light switch conversion space problem.
