The moment I saw it works "cooperatively with HomePod" I gave up on them already.

Is there anything available that you can integrate into Hassio? The only devices I'm aware of is the geyserwise, Silux Thermo and Geyserworx but none of them can bein tegrated into HA as far as I'm aware.

It would be great to have the geysers controlled by home assistant, but anything that I'll be able to do remotely will already be a step up from my current setup.

My objection was rather that HomePod isn't a thing you can integrate with and they are seemingly talking kak about it as well.

It's Homekit they should be referring to and then it would have had certification logos everywhere.

You can't even buy a HomePod in SA.

Interesting that you mention Geyserwise works with HA, I'm guessing only the newer models.

A few people here have used the Sonoff TH16 I believe.

None of these work with HA (not to my knowledge), only "smart" thing about them is that they have their own app and can be controlled remotely. I don't think any off them ha s an API or something to integrate it with HA.

It would be great if I can get something that can be integrated into HA, but it doesn't look like we have an option in SA, so I guess I'll go the normal geyerwise route again, maybe try the Silux unit.

Wait for the incoming Shelly units, those should be able to handle a geyser without issue, right @phaktza ?

The Sonoff does. Once you flash the Tasmota firmware to it.

Which is apparently super easy now as Sonoff has given up trying to stop it and you can do it via the web interface on newer units.

Problem is, my geyser has a 4kW element, so I'll have to include a contactor as well.

What temp probe do you guys use with the sonoffs and where do you measure the geyser temp?

Do they have one that does temperature probing?
I had a Shelly pw on my geyser it was great for time schedule and power usage but no temp sensors.

I converted it to solar and am now using a geyser wise. My element was 2.5kw and the Shelly takes 3.5kw max.

I have also put my underfloor on a Shelly for scheduling but no temp sensing, works fine as I schedule it just to get the floor warm and not for maintaining a room temperature

When you say converted to solar what did that entail parts and cost wise?

Since I already have the geyser wise and 250l geyser i always wonder about the retro fit.

13k for the entire thing including installation so that is

16 tube system kwikot
Stand for flat roof
DC pump
Solar panel for pump
Geserwise max
Installation and fittings

200L Geyser.

I guess I don't need the temp, but it would be nice. I just hate the geyserwise setup thus my reason for looking at alternatives.

The evening and weekend routines are consistent, but then I need to switch them on on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well, but only if cold.

Sounds like a good deal. I got a quote for just the tubes at R11k.

I've got a very weird issue with Node Red and I'm not sure if I should worry about it or not.

Note that it says "cover.open_cover called at ..."

But it's passing "cover.close_cover" I thought it was maybe a copy and paste issue at first but then re-created it from scratch and I still see it like this.

Home Assistant is receiving the correct thing presumably, even though in this particular case the payload is the same regardless. Where does one track this anyway?
