Sounds good, I intend on doing a mini review for the guys at work and there are more than a few automation enthusiasts at my office, so I figure there will be interest from a good number of people....

Whole thing is a dry contact, check here and here to see the I/O is separate from the power source.

Edit: just note you do have to change the jumper position depending on the power source.

So by default no power goes out on I and O if I understood that correctly?

So if you wanted to have it connect power out on those pins what then? Or are you meant to use other pins?

I'm thinking 1s, 1PMs, Shelly EMs, RGBW2s and Plug S initially.

I have bridged the (-) and I. You do the same with a Live connection.

Is there a simple way of backing up everything from my current Hass.io installation and moving it over to the new maching?

Copy the entire config folder?

Copy the entire config folder?

This usually does not include your add-ons like DuckDns, Samba etc.
I usually take a complete snapshot then unzip it into a folder to use the extras as required.

Cloud services might be an issue, but you can delete the cloud. (i thing ini) file and then you will be able to Alexa/Google assistant working again.

So the way I understand it, connecting the shelly to a normal light switch will allow the wall switch to always turn the lights on or off - and the shelly as well.

If the wall switch is off, I could turn the lights on with the shelly, and then switch the lights off again by putting the wall switch in the on position? If so - then are there light switches that are more push button type with no clear on/off position, so that my wall switches don't end up in the opposite directions?
