Home Automation - Smartkit

Would love to replace my paradox system since they seem to be locking stuff down and not playing nicely. Unfortunately have a few wireless zones and depend on the remotes so this seems like a non starter.
 
Isn’t Konnected still open source as well anyway?

So you could build your own I think.
 
I am busy with a project that would use the konnected interface to automate a few things at home I would be grateful for the opportunity to give it a try. 8 zone IDS X-series

Interesting. Same essentially as my Envisalink, probably just cheaper?
 
If you get any of the interface would be keen to have a bash at it with my DSC, also happy to pay for it depending on pricing

I was looking for the Sonoff BasicR as I need to control switches using REST API calls. I don't see it on the site. Are you planning on bringing those in?

They're on order and we've just received ICASA Type Approval.

I do have a few Sonoff RFR3s if you need something right now? Drop me a mail [email protected] as they aren't on the store yet.
 
I need another two Shelly's :p Decided to put them in where my wife leaves the lights on.

Fair enough.. I binned my dimmers, cos the LED bulbs were too expensive for my liking...

Good decision - they don't dim very well anyway.
1.) Not consistent dimming
2.) Flickering
3.) If there are too few, they hardly dim - (4)
4.) Expensive.

I bought 44 at R130/piece (21 in one room, 4 in two rooms, 6 in one room, and 9 in one room) of them thinking they'll work great with proper LED dimmers, turns out they don't.

Doing the last set of 9 this evening - so lets see how 9 work.
 
IF they don't dim nicely, replace one of them with an incandescent.

Did that previously - but doesn't seem to make a difference with the LED specific dimmers - I'm curious to see how tonight's install goes, trying a different dimmer.
 
My biggest disappointment with dimmable LED's is that they don't dim enough. I remember the old incandescent bulbs with the turn-knob variable resister switches that could dim all the way down to off. LED's seem to dim up to a point and then they reverse and go bright again. Finding that "sweet" spot of the maximum dimmed level is still alluding me.
