I have a geyser wise max but it has no sort of internet connection or app.

This is not correct. The probe is inside the geyser with the element.

Xiaomi temp and humidity sensor. Just needs a Xiaomi hub or zigbee2mqtt.

My bad, just went through all the manuals again, all temp options the temp sensors replaces the thermostat. Maybe I was thinking of something else.

Come to think of it, I don't think they have an app, but at least a web interface that you can access over the internet.

I'm too lazy to though 247 pages so how does the people on here's "home assistant" setup look like?

I'm looking to add some door sensors and motion detectors to my setup and are not sure how the availability locally looks like. Right now I'm considering Xiaomi.

Thought something was very weird because writing something for my aquarium pump in Node Red and testing it the button would keep turning itself back on again (oddly it's only in the GUI not the actual switch).

Then found this in the log which I think was an automation I wrote for it once upon a time way back when.

Thing is that automation doesn't exist. Not in the GUI not in the Yaml...nowhere....but it's magic is still happening.

W....T....F

It's like there is some kind of cache in play?

Geyserwise has a setup using a specific element they supply that can be run on direct DC using 3 x 300w panels. (well depends on size of geyser I guess).

Presumably it runs all day while the sun is on and only fails over to AC if need be at night, which shouldn't really be necessary if it say gets to 70 degrees.

My geyser hits 55 at night and is then at 45 in the morning still.

It works like that for either person.

The problem comes in that if both people rock up together then it sends double triggers slightly apart which brings it all crashing down as it does everything twice so the gate half opens and then stops and the garage half opens and then goes back up again.

Or worse it all opens happily and you think you are home free and pull in and **** starts closing.

In Home Assistant this doesn't happen as the colon between two triggers (the people) basically means OR instead of AND.

So that delay that is in place works perfectly. The one I was adding was on your recommendation looking like this.

What was weird was that it worked for Person 1 just fine, but last night Person 2 coming didn't do anything.

Nah that was my first thought too but I fixed that many moons ago and even went to make damn sure it's not enabled, the broker has been flushed and Tasmota retains are off.

Also it's not happening when I restart or any of that typical behaviour. It's a case of pressing the button in the GUI it will go off...and then turn back on a few seconds later (but not actually do it over MQTT).

So the first button action works but then the GUI status resets.

Very odd.

Maybe I should just reset the Sonoff.

I'm having some weirdness with Node Red I can't explain so maybe your original solution did work after all.

This morning my Presence OFF stuff didn't run at all, even though it's worked fine for days.

Yesterday I tested the Presence ON stuff manually and it was fine, but last night wife came home and nothing happened and same for me this morning after dropping kids.
 
On a wim buying some other stuff off Banggood I saw the iFan 03 on flash sale and figured what the hell let me try it out.

Now my question is how the hell is this going to work with the pull cords in the fan system? Should they just be set to the highest speed and left as is or should I take it out of the equation somehow?

Or with this thing bridging into the "source" will the pull cord somehow be disabled?

Must have been something I put in there yonks ago when first starting out and forgotten about it.

But it's still not the reason the GUI turns the button back off, that keeps happening.

I don't know what the hell is going on.

Everything based on a "events:state" node has simplly stopped responding as if Home Assistant isn't talking to it, yet it says "connected" without issue and shows disconnected if I reboot HA.

If I hit one of them manually with a time input then it works so the comms is there.

Even went so far as making the switch away from Input_Booleans for presence and using the native person.name from iOS app system instead but still no bloody dice.
