It integrates nicely into HA to allow complete monitoring of your home as well as notifications to your phone that there is a problem.

Surely the fence is armed 24/7? Mine is. The electric fence zone triggers when the fence is cut and the alarm goes off, no matter the state of the alarm.

what if i want to disarm my fence because it is going off non-stop? or disarm it because my gate wont open and i need to jump the wall, or i am away and my gardener must cut some bushes etc

This. Got mine connected to a sherlo remote so I don't have to go out in the middle of the night if it gets tripped.

I first need to get a pi4 for ha. Then change.

Only have some lights and pool pump, kettle and showers currently automated

Ahh I see. I must have misunderstood the statement as electric fences are a zone on an alarm system thus was referring it that - yes, being able to cut power to the energizer would def be a good thing to do, but even if one is able to cut mains power, the battery backup will kick in (if you have battery backup). Any idea how one could cut power completely? With mine I turn a key on the side which cuts power entirely, but with the different scenarios as outlined by Steamy Tom which I’ve had one or two before where I wanted to cut power entirely, I’d want to do this.

Edit: it seems my energizer has dry contacts to add a relay. Right better start planning this little project. :)

Does anyone have a link to the SV being used as a door opener with the GPIOs in use for open/close? Trying to find a decent picture to send the installer

i have mine setup on my garage door, i can only really see when it is closed though... i.e when it is opening/partially open/open it all shows as open... will that help?

The radio alarm, you will use as the sensor if the "garage door" is open or closed.
The on off switch as the trigger to open the "garage door", but with no pulse time, just on or off.
There is plenty info out there on connecting it for opening a garage door.

Basing my requirement on this - I'm assuming in my case, the radio alarm goes to the GPIO pins.

I'm hoping the installer of the fence will have more electrical knoledge than me, and do the actual install - understanding what I'm trying to achieve if I send him pictures :D

oh, so you want your alarm to go off when the garage is opened while armed?
 
Someone on here mentioned something about being able to monitor an output of their alarm, so that when the output is triggered and there's 1 volt going through the output that the sensor is triggered/activated...?

I considered using a sonoff SV, but then when the output isn't activate then the sonoff will just show as unavailable since it will be off.

I could use the alarm output to trigger a 220v relay, which I can then use to measure the current with a POW - but again, if the output isn't triggered then the POW will be off.

I'd need something that stays on, but the voltage measuring happens on a different set of inputs coming in.

Any pointers to a similar project that could help?

GPIO’s are connected to a magnetic switch.

Nothing more to it.



Should be some illustration in there.

Have you seen an outdoor reed switch at all? Looking to have a way to know when my front gate is open/close
