Home media upgrade

Hi, my current set up is a WD My Cloud connected to my home wifi network and a WD tv live connected to my not so smart tv.

What would be the best option for bypassing the tv live and watching the media content straight on the TV and still have a decent user interface?

Are there any decent Smart TV’s out there that would pick up the WD My Cloud and play the content?

I use Raspberry Pi 3 with Kodi. I use standard usb hard drive connected to my adsl router.
