Is it just me thats wondering why we get a disc for the game only to install halfway (5gb), and need to download the last half (another 5gb)? Now it tells me i still have to wait 6 hours before I can play, by that time I need to be at work :(

So who else is gonna play?

yes that correct the dlc part is 5gb :)

my friend bought so pissed atm lol

im picking up later today, but going out so only saterday for me :)

Collecting my copy from BT after work. Then I'm going to start the installation and then I'm going to a birthday party and then when I get back tonight I'm going to kill some peeps with drones online. :) Don't blame the game developers for having to download extras. Blame Telkom for our crappy internet.

you got to be foeking kidding me????? I'll probably only play on sunday if i'm lucky, i only got 384k line.....

Extra's is one thing. But 6 gigs? lol.

4meg at full speed will give him 1.5gig a hour , no maybe tad slower line?

on 4mb just under 4 hours should be done

High speed uncapped internet is the standard in any gaming market of a decent size. Blame telkom not the publisher.

i am only gettin 52kbs ave if i am lucky... i have 4meg mweb uncapped shapped... but surfing and dl other stuff is fine..... y is it so slow

but i wanna know y my dl is so slow

In the US, the peep just pops his disc in and starts installing, sees a 5gb update and go and make a cup of tea while he's downloading the update @ 100Mbps. That's if he is going to buy a disc at all and not download the whole game from Steam.

But 5GB does seem a bit excessive. Are you sure you're installing from disc? I had to try countless times with Blops to get it to install from disc. It continually tried to download the entire game, then I had to cancel, uninstall, rinse, repeat until it started installing from disc.

Ja, I upgraded to 4mb last month, hate to wait for a update to get into a game. I'm using my afrihost atm to get the update as my IS uncapped is shaped during business hours and I only get around 52kb/s, on my afrihost going at a strong avg of 400kb/s :D

I'm sorry but shipping a product to the world on the assumption that everyone has a fast uncapped internet connection is naive. What about the gamers who only play singleplayer? What about gamers who don't have internet? I don't see why another disc could not be included in the package like, you know, most games released in the last 8 years.

I'm on mweb 4MB uncapped too, and I was experiencing the same speeds. I rebooted the router and I'm back to full speed. Maybe try that? I also noticed my torrents where really under performing, and I figured it's because of the Seacom issues recently. I think they applied some shaping rule to users while they fixed things, and that shaping rule was still applied until I rebooted. I just bought Homefront on steam and have 9gig's to go. 6 hours remaining. :D
