HomePod mini on mesh

Hi all.

Recently upgraded the home Wi-Fi to a xiaomi ax3000 mesh system. I cannot for the life of me get Siri working on my HomePod minis. They are connected to the Wi-Fi and are working but you cannot give instructions to play music etc through Siri. I have a HomePod in my study which is connected to the gateway device and one in the lounge which is connected to the satellite device and neither work.

Anyone have any idea on what to tweak in the network settings to get around this?

It’s got nothing go do with Mesh.

Siri/HomePods aren’t officially supported in South Africa so you need to convince them you are American or British.

@Se@n Change the language to UK English and the HomePod will work just fine.

Well fck me. Thanks guys. Did I not spend the entire weekend resetting these two HomePods and tweaking every available setting on the network. The mesh system was just about packed back in its box on its way back to takealot.

On the HomePod it's at least that simple...on the Apple TV it's a whole bloody mission with US accounts and all that crap to make it work.

And honestly there's no reason the SA voice can't just be included.

SA English was part of the last OS update for the ATV, but I guess 'cos there's no official channel for HomePods here there's no reason to include it in HomePod updates.
