I don’t know hey, because when it works it works well so doesn’t feel like a hardware problem.
Just feels like a pure LLM or implementation
Good to know.
As a matter of interest, which phone model are you using it with?

At R7k for 2 Mini 2's for TV use I’d much rather get a soundbar with a wireless sub, you get some really great sounding onesBluetooth soundbars
It’s very hit and miss.
Every so often when it goes well I’m really amazed by how well it works and integrates and then then next time I use it I want to throw my phone out the window.
BUT the most annoying is things like setting a timer or asking it to open my garage door which was instant since it was all offline now takes AGES because it goes to ask the AI.
I do live in hope that it will get there.
I thought the AI was largely being done on the device and that was why only certain iPhones can run AI?Yes but i don’t think it’s going to on the current gen of h/w.
The on device AI is in theory supposed to handle the mundane type of requests locally but they don’t appear to be able to host a capable enough local model within the constraints of the h/w.
Hey Siri, open GeminiI’m on an iPhone 13 and I’m trying to find a way to trigger an AI voice search request via Siri, using a 3rd party AI, are there any ways to achieve that because generally Siri is useless for anything other than basic internet searches(and can only open safari and run the search) or setting timers etc.
But how can I make it open directly to a voice prompt with Gemini or whatever AI it is?Hey Siri, open Gemini
I haven’t worked out a way to do thatBut how can I make it open directly to a voice prompt with Gemini or whatever AI it is?
Seems it might be possible, haven't tried this yet but Gemini does support itI haven’t worked out a way to do that
Karen has spoken to the managerTake the Gemini BS elsewhere.
That's new - that action wasn't available via Shortcuts just a couple of months ago.Seems it might be possible, haven't tried this yet but Gemini does support it
You can launch Google Gemini directly into a live voice mode using the iOS Shortcuts app. [1]
How to Set It Up
- Open the Shortcuts App on your iPhone.
- Tap the + icon in the top right corner to make a new shortcut.
- Tap Add Action and search for Gemini.
- Select the action Talk Live with Gemini (or Open Gemini mic).
- Tap the shortcut's title at the top to Rename it (for example, name it "Gemini Live" or "Summon Gemini").
- Tap Done. [1, 2, 3, 4]
It’s very cool, I’m going to try it out now, if it works I'll start another thread about it so @Smiggles doesn't get her panties in a knot againThat's new - that action wasn't available via Shortcuts just a couple of months ago.
