HON- Beta Keys

Has anyone elsenotice that after they release the 30 000 keys the games has become unplayable from south africa ?

ping almost always 900+
 
I tried on Saturday for the first time Time. My Ping was 250-350 on 384Kbs Line.



EDIT:

Is there any documentation of HON? I have not played Dota much. Maybe like once or twice at a Lan. I want to know what Items to buy and what they do...

I play on my 3G modem and it plays smooth (just munches threw my cap, can’t wait for the SA server). If you go and Google HoN: Heroes of newerth you will find pages and pages on the game, hero builds, items, etc. Under the forum topic"HoN open beta soon, hurry!" you can find the HoN vs DotA item list, but seeing as you haven’t played DotA much it might not help :p
 
Played a bit this weekend; average ping was between 250-300ms on EU/US servers.

I'm using axxess semi-shaped though.
 
With my Internet Solutions account I get 220 min and no more than 280ms to the EU servers! Funny though I dont get less than 280 to japan servers with saix...

I kinda reckon the data travels along different sea cables :D
 
local server hurry up!

anyone know what our pings could be like? would it really be less than 200ms ?!

currently playing at 250-300ms ping
 
It really is hardly noticeable with sub 250 anyway. I can successfully deny and hit last hit on creeps. Hopefully on the local servers there will be less twats! :P
 
Does anybody have a LoL beta key to give me? Or trade it for a HoN key or something -_-
 
I lol @ lol - seriously IMO HoN is gonna go BIG really soon.....seriously - that game is seriously awesome.

It didn't fail like demigod by changing the formula too much - they kept it true to what worked, improved the graphics, and are adding heroes like mad. voip is now built in, awesome stat tracking, improved interface & shop, etc,etc.

it's 99% dota - the feel, everything.

but now, they got a new engine - so they can create any hero that can do anything. dota hit a wall because you can only script a mod so far....

also, S2Games are developing this thing at an alarming rate! icefrog is a 1-man band, but S2 has an army of coders, sound fx engineers, graphic artists, etc,etc,etc

they probably have a few guys just sitting around thinking of new heroes & skills all day...

what i'm trying to say is, If you think DotA will always be better than HoN, get ready to play old dota alone.... IMO it has already passed Dota in every aspect.
connection stability, the voip system, the key setup, the graphics, sound, hero "coolness" level,etc

anyone played the new heroes yet?
magmus is already old news i'm talking about succubus & Retched Hag
 
Played one game wih Succubus, she is pretty cool. She has bane's skill set.
Her concept is just way much better and fun.

When you sleep somebody they have these little dancing devils above their head poking them and doing small amounts of pure damage.
 
Hahaha dream on Keeper. This game will never beat DotA. The map and graphics are way to much. I don't like the new names of the hero's. The only thing that would beat "old" dota is when Blizz decides to remake it. That would be super awesome.

I give this game 7 out of 10 comparing it with DotA.

it's not so "cute" as it looks though :(
